As an internationally orientated European guy, I was missing something on the various blogs covering news about WordPress.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t until the very first <a title=\"WP on Tour\" href=\"http:\/\/wpontour.com\">WP on Tour<\/a> in January of this year that the idea was rekindled, but nothing was set in stone. Yet. A couple of months later a bunch of us who had attended WP on Tour crashed WordCamp NL and the idea got picked up again &#8211; made even more concrete. After a little debate via our Skype group chat we came up with the name WP Realm and I thus I registered the domain.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We outlined it in our &#8220;<a title=\"Hello world!\" href=\"https:\/\/wprealm.com\/hello-world\/\">Hello world!<\/a>&#8221; post:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is a community blog, focusing on the WordPress community worldwide, and redressing a current imbalance in WordPress blogs that are too often US-centric. That means reporting on WordPress news and events across the world, from France to Serbia to China to India to South Africa to the USA and everywhere in between! Our focus will be on WordPress businesses, blogs, events, people, and services. As a community project, we\u2019d love for you to get involved, whether it\u2019s helping with the design and development, to reporting the news, to writing an editorial, or just giving us your feedback.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Having a group of people who wanted to build a site made me think that we should actually build this site as a group. You know, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/defries\/wprealm\">open-source that baby<\/a> \ud83d\ude09 This is what we have been busy with for the last couple of weeks and the result of our hard labor is what you see today. The site is far from finished, but we like the <a title=\"Lean Startup\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lean_Startup\">Lean Startup<\/a> approach and just wanted to get the site out there. We have a couple of ideas for future releases, but for now, we just wanted to get our platform launched.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you like what we&#8217;re doing here and visit us often.
